Changes at the Global Fund and Advocacy Opportunities for MSM in 2012
The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is currently undergoing significant restructuring as a result of funding shortfalls and recent board decisions. These changes have serious implications for men who have sex with men (MSM) around the world.
In order to help MSM advocates understand these developments and respond appropriately, the Global Forum on MSM & HIV (MSMGF) has released an Information Note describing recent changes, their impact on MSM programs, and potential advocacy interventions in 2012.
The Information Note can be found on the MSMGF website at: http://www.msmgf.org/files/msmgf//Publications/Global_Fund_InfoNote.pdf.
It is crucial that MSM advocates mobilize to make sure the Global Fund works well for key populations, especially during this time of crisis.
Any questions can be directed to MSMGF Policy Associate Mohan Sundararaj at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you very much,
The MSMGF Secretariat
